2024 Northeast High School All-State Games (Invite Only)
Jake Ostertag is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Babylon, NY who attends Babylon. Long and lanky pitcher's build with lots of room to get stronger. Primary outfielder but graded out and projects better as a pitcher this event. Works from a full wind up with a deep arm takeaway in back and a 3/4's arm slot coming through, has some extension down the mound and good balance. Fastball was in the mid-80's and topped out at 88 mph with more there as he physically matures. Mid-70's breaking ball had sweeping shape with good spin and tightness. Still developing consistency but that will come with repetitions. 7.47 runner in the sixty. Showed his arm strength very well in the outfield, has a fast and loose shoulder, footwork still developing. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight and tall stance with a simple stride into his swing, limited lower half involvement, tends to cast his barrel to the ball, some middle of the field line drive contact. Named to the Northeast HS All-State Games Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
