2023 13U/14U Deep South Prospect Showcase
Carson Speed is a 2027 OF/RHP, MIF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Sumrall, MS who attends Sumrall. Recorded a 7.57 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder with a lean frame. Showed choppy footwork moving to the ball. Attacked the ball with intent and used a long arm action, releasing from a 3/4 slot. Also worked out in the infield and displayed good body control. Stays low the ground and recorded throws up to 79 mph across the infield. Right-handed hitter and starts from a wide base with even feet. High back elbow and hand set and showed quality bat speed. Bat stays on an uphill path. Stays short to the ball and ends with a short finish. Secondary right-handed pitcher and drives through the back side well. Longer arm action and releases from mid-3/4 slot, running it up to 75 mph. Has some rhythm to operation and mixed in a slider that featured tightness.
