Rio Ryu is a 2027 RHP/ with a 5-7 115 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Cactus Shadows High School/Psh. Compact frame with wiry athleticism that really shows on both sides. Ran a 8.65 in the 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher, stretch delivery and higher three-quarter slot with medium stride length. Athletic and quick arm action with a short arm cricle for age. Fastball has arm-side run with a tighter 11-5 breaking ball for age. Also mixed in a late horizontal slider for strikes. Quality mix and feel for two off-speeds stood out. Also showed a strong arm in outfield and infield drills with strength and carry to throws with confident charges. Right-handed hitter, upright stance and narrow base. Works backside and shifts weight well with good extension in the path. Quick hands produced a cleaner barrel with good control and a bit of impact off the bat. Has components to really work with going forward. Named to Top Prospect list.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
