Thomas Smith is a 2027 RHP/OF with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Concord, NC. Solid athletic build, doesn't appear as big as listed but has good present strength and projects well. Works from the stretch with a simple slide step to the plate, very simple delivery. Worked in the upper 70's in the first inning with his fastball with hard sink and bore and was consistently on top of the baseball from a high 3/4's arm slot. Started mixing in a soft curveball from a lower slot in the second inning and lost his release point and velocity on his fastball. Easy fix, arm worked really well from the higher release point. 7.99 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder on defense, shows some carry on his throws from a mid 3/4's release slot, developing foot and glove work. Right handed hitter, hits from a very wide base with a tight low hand load and a heel lift trigger, long and extended swing, flashes some strength at contact. Has arm talent to further develop.
