Jacob Ostreicher is a 2027 C/1B with a 5-10 225 lb. frame from Newberry, FL who attends Newberry. Bigger frame and build with some thickness throughout. Some present strength with room to keep adding muscle to the build. Ran a 7.89 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who worked out at the position with good intent to the actions. He was on-line with his throws and had a feel to get the ball out with a more compact arm action. Showed a side-saddle setup with intent to the actions, developing arm strength and feel for the exchange. Threw 72 mph down to second with a 2.19 pop time. Also worked out at first base, throwing 75 mph across the diamond with compact arm actions and accurate throws across. He had simple glovework and had some awareness around the bag with his footwork. Compact arm action on the throws as well. Took BP as a right-handed hitter with an even base and simple setup. He worked uphill through it with a shorter stroke and simple operation. He worked to the pull-side part of the field and kept things simple with some feel to impact it. He had some thump off the barrel and was able to impact on some pull-side line drives that jumped off the bat. Pretty simple operation overall. Produced an 85 mph exit velocity during DK Testing. Great student.
