Brett Harris is a 2008 RHP/OF with a 6'2'', 185 lb. frame from Chesapeake, VA who attends Hickory HS. He has a tall, angular build that projects well for a pitcher. Harris throws from a well controlled, balanced delivery with a pause at the top. He has a long extended arm action in back and accelerates his arm well through release. He'll occasionally not bend his back coming through and leave pitches up in the strike zone as a result. Harris was mainly 85-87 mph with his fastball and touched 88 mph with good running action. His change up was 79 mph and was a really good pitch for him. Harris' curveball was 73 mph and had fair spin most of the time and was consistent but lacked real sharpness. Harris threw strikes, spotted his pitches and had an idea on the mound. He closely resembled Ryan Arrowwood from the same showcase with just a little less sharpness to his stuff. Harris is projectable and should keep improving. He also plays outfield and showed some opposite field power with the bat that could be developed. He's a good prospect and solid follow on the mound.
