Aiden Sweany is a 2029 C/RHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Chesapeake, VA who attends Grassfield. Medium frame with wiry strength and the room to add more strength and size long term. Primary position catcher working from a one knee down stance, showing comfort and understanding for the spot. Handles the leather well and uses a quick midline transfer to get to throws. Room to gain more ground and be more efficient which bodes well down the line since arm strength is present. Rips feeds to second with a pop-time best 1.97 and reached 69 mph from here. Reps in the outfield and infield as well, working deliberately through his reps and showing accuracy with the glove. Same short arm path here as well producing accurate throws in the mid-70s. RHH working from an open start and using a comfortable handset to get things started. Minimal turn out of then lower-half but generates sound bat speed with strong hands at impact. Can get on plane a bit more to produce more consistent line drives in the future but feel for the barrel is there and projects as an offensive backstop long term. Good student as well.
