Mason Frey is a 2029 1B/RHP/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Tampa Jesuit. Extra-large, physical build with long levers and plenty of strength present throughout. 7.54 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman, showed some feel for his footwork around the bag. Fielded the baseball with a soft glove, making quality turns to second base. Covered some ground laterally and demonstrated the ability to adjust the glove. Recorded arm strength up to 79 mph on throws across the diamond. Secondary pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch with a medium leg lift. Separates into an inline arm path before releasing the baseball from a three-quarters slot. Maintains his posture and repeats the operation well. Fastball worked all parts of the zone, topping out at 74 mph. Mixed in a changeup with good arm-side fade as well a mid-60s curveball to mistime hitters. Right-handed batter, sets up in a wider, open stance with an even hand set-up. Gets connected well before firing a quick barrel through the zone. Has plenty of evident strength with feel for creating carry into the gaps. Projects for more power with additional strength and mechanical refinement. Posted an exit velocity of 90 mph. Great student.
