Dalton Fay is a 2027 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Herriman, UT who attends Mountain Ridge. He has a taller athletic build with some present strength for his size and age and projects very well physically. Ran a 7.60 60-yard dash. A primary infielder who moved well with some feel for the lateral actions at the position. He used a transfer away from the body working into his throws, funneling through the middle of the lower half into the transfer. He was accurate to first base with strength across and a lower slot on his release. Fundamental footwork to get around the baseball with some clean glove actions on display. Threw 81 mph across the diamond. A right-handed hitter who keeps an even base, squared stance, and has a more upright setup. He had some feel too guide the barrel through the zone, with glide. There was some feel to work uphill through contact and be able to connect and use the whole field. There was some ability to use the whole field. Hand speed and bat-to-ball showed and translated well in-game, picking up a handful of hits during games. Produced an 81 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. A right-handed hitter who had some thickness to the build, working from the stretch. He comes set with closed feet, lifting the leg and striding down the slope. He got some extension in the frontside with a longer arm action through the back. The fastball worked up to 83 mph and had good life to it, cutting it on occasion. Showed a breaking ball with good 11-5 shape to it, getting around it at times to create some sidespin, but mostly 11-5 shape when locating it. He worked pretty quickly overall and threw strikes. Later in the outing, he varied the leg lift to mess with opposing hitters' timing. Put together a good outing on the mound overall. Great student. Named to 2024 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase TP List.
