McCoy Nye is a 2029 RHP/MIF/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Manheim, PA who attends Manheim Central. Slender young medium athletic build with lots of time and room to continue to get stronger. Works from a full wind up with with a long and loose arm action and a 3/4's arm slot, repeats his mechanics well and shows his athleticism well. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with nice running action down. Showed two quality secondary pitches that he tunneled very well. Change up had very good sink and dive late at the plate, also showed nice spin and depth on a slurve type two-plane curveball. Threw strikes with all three pitches with big projection. Worked out both as and outfielder and infielder, has better athletic actions and fundamentals as an infielder, arm plays well at both positions but more functional and consistent in the infield as well. Right handed hitter, sets up in a slightly closed stance with compact hands in his load and limited lower half shift into contact, very rotational swing, tends to hit around the ball. Outstanding student. Named to the PG New York Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
