2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (28-29 Grads)
Franco Calaf is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from East Elmhurst, NY who attends The Beacon. Medium build with some compact strength to build on. Left handed hitter, sets up in a narrow and slightly open stance with an inward toe tap timer, aggressive swing approach, swings hard and will lose his front side early at times but creates plenty of present bat speed, has some lift through contact, turns the barrel over well with hard pull side impact. 7.56 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, fields the ball out front, made good throws to second base and lowered his slot well, solid arm strength. Also worked out in the outfield and showed arm strength without any fundamental actions. Took a turn on the mound, works from a full wind up with a rocking leg lift start, low 3/4's to almost side arm slot with a long arm swing in back. Fastball was in the upper 70's with big running life at times, worked mostly arm side. Slider had big sweeping depth with some tilt and missed barrels. Change up showed promise with sinking depth. Deception plays up on the mound. Good student. Named to the PG High School All-State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
