Afton Middlebrook is a 2027 OF/LHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Pawling, NY who attends Pawling. Broad shouldered athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread and open stance with a leg raise trigger, can get to his front side early at times, looking to pull the ball, line drive swing plane, bat speed projects with more strength. Primary outfielder on defense, carries his momentum through his throws well, stays low to the ball, arm works well and has some young arm strength with more to come. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch from the third base side, gets coiled well over the rubber, hides the ball with an on-line arm stroke and 3/4's release point. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with some cutting action at times. Has good feel for shaping a breaking ball, will raise his slot at times on the curveball. Has some fade on his change up. Good student.
