Nicholas Durbala is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Dowling Catholic. Strong and physical build. 7.90 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, is light on his feet and moves well, works into his throws, clean actions with an idea on his footwork. Also worked out in the outfield, was aggressive to the ball and fielded the ball out front, big crow hop into his throws with an extended 3/4's arm slot, developing accuracy and carry. Left handed hitter, sets up in an open stance, has a good base swing and the beginnings of some bat speed, ball come off the barrel well, still developing the ability to handle the barrel consistently. Took a turn on the mound, works from an uptempo delivery with a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 70 mph and was thrown for strikes, also threw a short cutter-like slider to try to get off barrels. Good student.
