Caleb Cowan is a 2028 RHP/IF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Clermont, GA who attends North Hall. Wiry young athletic build with lots of room and time to get stronger. Works from the stretch from the middle of the rubber, will vary stretch and full wind up, good direction down the mound, 3/4's arm slot, can get early with his lower half rotation coming down the mound. Fastball topped out at 79 mph and was mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Depended heavily on his secondary pitches, change up was a solid offering to left handed hitters with some sink and fade and good arm speed at release. Threw both a big soft curveball and shorter harder slider with some sweep to it, was effective when down in the zone and mixing. 7.83 runner in the sixty. Showed more arm strength in the outfield with a full and loose low 3/4's arm slot and made accurate throws, can be more aggressive working through the ball. Right handed hitter, set up in a medium straight stance with a short leg raise trigger, short swing with some extension out front, simple and repeatable swing mechanics with mostly middle of the field line drive contact, drove the ball well in his game at-bats. Good student.
