Holden Wells is a 2028 C/RHP, 1B with a 5-4 105 lb. frame from Mesa, AZ who attends San Tan Charter. Features a smaller/lean build. Behind the plate, showed solid catch/throw fundamentals. Stays low showing a clean transfer with avg. quickness while also replacing his feet well. Arm strength is still developing where it showed avg. to below avg. strength for his level. 50/50 accuracy on his throwdowns. At the plate. he sits in a balanced stance with loose hands. Hands push back and down into launch while using a simple forward move. More of a down-and-through swing that showed some trouble getting the barrel out front. Exhibited avg. bat/hand speed for his level. Some quality barrels up the middle of the field where he showed some inside-out ability. At times got stuck on backside. On the mound, he showed a slower-paced low-effort operation. Works with a belt high knee lift with a smaller lower half sit showing more tall/fall type. Lands on-line but soft with minimal block. Arm works into a loose circle in the back and up to a higher 3/4 slot. Fastball was up to 62 and mixed in a low 50s developing breaker.
