2024 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Hugh Potter is a 2028 C/UT with a 6-0 182 lb. frame from Port Charlotte, FL who attends Lemon Bay. An athletic frame and build with some strength. Room to continue filling out the build and adding to it moving forward. Projectable frame & build. Ran a 7.86 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who worked out behind the dish with a side saddle setup. Showed an extended transfer working into a release with developing arm strength working through it. Showed some quickness through it and stayed around the bag down at second base. Threw 70 mph out of the crouch with a 2.07 pop time. A switch-hitter. As a left-handed hitter, he has an exaggerated open & narrow start. He was able so stay on an inside path working through it, getting the weight out in front to get on it. He worked the whole field during his swings from the left side. As a right-handed hitter, it was the same setup, getting to it out in front once again, showing some more bat speed as a righty. Produced an 80 mph exit velocity during DK Testing. Also took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher with a higher three-quarters arm slot, higher leg lift, and higher hand set. The hands separate early in the delivery as he works downhill. He showed a fastball up to 73 mph with a spin into the 2,200 RPM range. He showed an 11-5 shaped curveball in the low-60s as well.
