Dempsey Steinmetz is a 2028 1B/RHP, 3B with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Chicago, IL. Young, narrow shouldered build with a lean frame and room to fill throughout with added strength moving forward. Ran a 9.40 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball closer to body, takes short steps moving off of the bag, longer release but shows accuracy on throws across diamond, arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch, compact through the backside and release working to a lower three-quarters slot. Utilizes a shorter stride coming down the mound, fastball topped out at 66 mph, pitched to contact and showed short running life to his arm side, pitched exclusively off of his fastball in this look. Right-handed hitter, begins with an open stance a high back elbow at the plate, lower hand set at start. Full swing path through the zone and swings with intent, worked to the middle of the field with some comfort. Looks to stay compact with swing and worked it around the diamond, shorter finish through the point of contact. Excellent student.
