Ethan York is a 2028 LHP/1B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Alvaton, KY who attends Greenwood. Lean and long athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Works from a full wind up from the third base side of the rubber, chest high leg tuck over the rubber, has a deep arm takeaway to a side arm to very low 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was mostly in the low 80's and topped out at 85 mph, gets nice run and sink in the zone. Threw a soft slider as his breaking ball with the ability to manipulate the shape and break, threw it for strikes at any point in the count.. 7.69 runner in the sixty. Secondary first baseman on defense, has good hands and fields the ball cleanly, showed some footwork around the bag, good arm strength for the position. Left handed hitter, sets up in a medium stance with a slightly closed front side and a short stride into contact, has a pull and lift swing approach and put the ball in the air consistently with some impact and carry, creates back spin and uses his lower half well to drive his bat speed. Has two-way potential moving forward. Very good student.
