John Giannitsas is a 2026 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Dix Hills, NY who attends St. Anthony's. Medium build with good present strength. 7.30 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, works through the ball well and shows sound glove actions, feet work around the bag, makes accurate throws, pretty polished defensive actions. Right handed hitter, sets up in a very narrow and slightly open stance with a low hand set, turns the barrel well and showed the ability create some separation and lift out front, flashed some juice to both gaps, can get mistimed with his hand load, has plenty of hitting potential with more consistency. Took a turn on the mound, left handed thrower, works from the stretch from the third base side, has a coiled and well controlled delivery with a deep arm takeaway and a low 3/4's arm slot, gets extended over his front side well. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with some arm side life. Turned over a firm change up with some fade, also threw a sweeping slider with good feel for the shape and velocity. Mix and match southpaw who can get outs. Very good student.
