Jayden Espinal is a 2027 MIF/RHP with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Bayshore, NY who attends . Compact, sturdy frame with room to add strength and physically mature. Recorded a 8.17 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary infielder with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set. Displayed proper footwork into the fielding process, a clean funnel and some lateral range especially up the middle. Recorded arm strength up to 76 mph across from a lower slot during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated windup with a belt high leg lift into balance, drop-and-drive lower half movements down the slope and produced some present arm speed. Fastball worked mostly in the upper-70s throughout his outing and topped out at 80 mph from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower that used all four quadrants of the strike zone effectively, while showing the ability to manipulate both speed and shape to his slider. Completed arsenal with a more vertical, slower curveball to disrupt timing and projects to add more velocity as he continues to mature. Left-handed hitter that hits from a slightly closed stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Rotational lower half mechanics with strength in his hands. Whole field approach with developing feel for the barrel, will continue to improve with more lower half engagement and refinement of his swing mechanics. Named to the 2023 13/14U Fall Northeast Top Prospect List.
