Holden Loy is a 2028 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-11 135 lb. frame from Leclaire, IA who attends Assumption. A longer and lean frame with a slender build. Long levers throughout with room to keep filling out moving forward. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash. A primary middle infielder who fielded it up the middle with a longer and loose arm action with some accuracy to first base. He showed a feel for the actions and worked with good angles. He was a quality mover on the infield. He worked through it well with a clean funnel and gather working into it. Threw 77 mph across the diamond with developing arm strength and feel to get the ball out with a clean release. A right-handed hitter with slightly open feet, high hands, and the back elbow up. Showed a loose and simple stroke with some bat speed to impact it. He whipped the hands through the zone and was able to get extended and turn on pitches. He worked pull-side with his best impacts, putting together some good swings working pull-side. Also took the mound as a right-handed pitcher, using the long levers well in the delivery. He worked from the wind-up with a sidestep into the leg lift at the belt with a slower and deliberate motion. He worked the mid-70s on the fastball with some life to it, running it through the zone. He also flashed a changeup up to 70 mph with some fading depth to it, killing spin on it well. Showed a loose shoulder and longer takeaway from a higher three-quarters release, coming through release fine. Fluid delivery overall. Excellent student.
