Mitchell Kelly is a 2028 3B/RHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Blue Grass, IA who attends Assumption. Tall and lean build. Right handed hitter, sets up in a narrow and upright stance with a high hand load, aggressive move into his swing, loose swing with some lift out front, hit the ball to all fields with the hardest contact pulling, projectable hitting tools as he gets stronger. 8.18 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, who worked out on the infield, showing off some arm strength, throwing 81 mph across the infield. He had a loose arm action with some feel to whip through release, and he showed good glove work as well. He worked through the ball well and had a feel for the spot, ranging to both sides. He also worked out in the outfield, with some looseness to the arm and a smooth release. He waits back on it with feel to work through the funnel and get the ball out on a clean path through his release. Threw 79 mph from the outfield during his round of defense. Also took to the mound, working from the stretch, with an open start and closed set position, favoring the first base side of the rubber. He had a longer and loose arm action with a more three-quarters release. He was 80-81 mph on the fastball with some carry and arm-side run to it, spinning above 2100 RPMs. He flashed a curveball in the low-70s with 11-5 shape and depth to it, showing sharper depth. Mixed in the occasional CH at 75 mph with straight depth to it, showing spin down into the 1600s. Threw strikes and atttacked hitters with drop and drive mechanics for a clean outing.
