Ian Meadows is a 2029 C/RHP/1B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Valdese, NC who attends Jimmy C. Draughn. Taller young build with lots of room and time to get stronger. 7.62 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, is quick out of his crouch with a good transfer from glove to hand, has a longer arm action and tends to get mis-timed in his release, has some arm strength for his age with more to come. Right handed hitter, starts from a spread and slightly closed stance, limited lower half shift or rotation, inside swing path with an opposite field approach, executed his approach consistently and handled the barrel well. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a well controlled delivery and long stride down the mound that enabled him to throw lots of strikes. Fastball topped out at 73 mph and was thrown to spots, plenty more velocity there. Slider was a nice pitch with some tightness and feel and could develop into his best pitch. Also threw a curveball and change up. Has more projection at present as a pitcher than as a position prospect and graded out higher..
