Dominic Alves is a 2027 2B/RHP, C, MIF, OF with a 5-9 125 lb. frame from Ellicott City, MD who attends Howard. Medium frame with a lean current build and a lot of time and space to add physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in 8.37 seconds. Primary position infielder, showing some good footwork and first step quickness. Plays a touch high and bends at the waist to field but can really pick it with the leather showing clean glove work. Solid lateral mobility and using clean midline transfer to get to lower slot release creating throws up to 70 mph across the diamond. Secondary RHP, staring offset and using a chest high leg lift to get loaded over the rubber using a shorter stride to foot strike. Accelerates through a 3/4 arm angle and shows some hand speed as he reached 70 mph with the heater and backed it up with low-60s curve ball. RHH working from a wider stance and loads well into his backside pre-pitch. Good handset with some tilt and small leg lift as he works into the pitch. Emerging strength in his hands but does find the barrel often, with his power in ahead of him yet. Elite performer in the classroom as well.
