2023 14U Main Event Showcase
Rudra Patel is a 2028 3B/RHP, OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Pendleton, SC. Medium, square shouldered frame with some present strength already and additional room to fill moving forward. Primary third baseman, shows sound technique and fundamentals in the dirt, works through the ball well and shows a nice arm across the diamond with some present carry and accuracy on throws. Also pitched, compact delivery with a short arm stroke, starts on first base side of rubber; short stride coming own the mound, creates some extension from a three-quarters release point and able to sink the fastball some up to 69 mph. Works quickly with deception to delivery, mixed a curveball at 64 mph and flashed a 57 mph changeup. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Utilizes a short stride moving into contact, rotational swing with a linear path through the zone. Shows comfort turning on the baseball, can implement additional lower half into swing.
