Jason (JJ) Perez is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Calverton, NY who attends Riverhead. Projectable athletic build with some present strength to build on. Primary outfielder on defense, attacks the ball aggressively and carries his momentum into his throws, can get more consistent in his glove work, deeper arm action with a higher slot and has some arm strength and carry. Right handed hitter, sets up in a slightly open stance with a compact hand load and simple stride into contact, has some bat speed and gets good jump off the barrel, some raw strength, power approach that could improve as he gets stronger. Also pitched, works from a full wind up with a medium length arm path to an over the top arm slot, repeats his mechanics well and throws strikes. Fastball was in the low 70's, showed confidence in his breaking ball and threw it often and for strikes. Good student.
