2026 PG National West Showcase
Esteban Rivas is a 2028 C/RHP/OF with a 5-7 165 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Highland. Features a smaller frame with avg. athleticism. Ran a 7.36 60-yd dash. Showed quality actions from both the OF and behind the dish. Hard and aggressive charger and fields it out front and clean. Works through it well and gets to a shorter arm action where he got off throws with avg. strength but flashes of carry. Behind the plate, operates from a knee down set up and gains good ground with some quickness. Shows a compact chest high exchange. Got off downhill throws with avg. strength that were mostly accurate to the bag. At the plate, worked from a medium/even base and uses as simple trigger where the foot gets down early. Short and compact stroke that works on a level plane through the zone but at times showed some back side collapse. Quality length to the path. All fields approach during his round. Swing translated into gameplay with a couple barrels which included a pull side double down the LF line. On the mound, side steps into a hip high tuck. Works with pace and is a balanced mover down the mound getting to avg. length with a quality block. Medium length AA out the glove and to release out of a 3/4 slot. FB showed normal 4S shape in the upper 70s with strong command. Mixed in a mid 60s 11-5 breaking ball and upper 60s depthy + fading CH he showed feel to land in-zone. Named to Top Prospects list.
