Pryor Hampy is a 2028 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Fort Worth, TX who attends Covenant Classical. Slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. 7.23 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, works through the baseball well and gets downhill into it. Showcased the ability to adjust the glove on the run and stay behind the backhands. Covers ground well and gets to his spots in the dirt. Projectable footwork and actions at the position. Recorded arm strength up to 84 on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, works from a fast paced full delivery with a leg coil start over the rubber, energy into release and will pull off at release. Releases the ball from a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball topped out at 82 mph and was mostly straight with occasional cutting action, around the zone with his fastball. Threw a soft slurve type breaking ball as his off speed. Right-handed batter, starts in an upright, slightly open stance with a high back elbow and high hand set-up. Utilizes a simple stride for timing before working into a connected, inside swing path. Showed feel for working all parts of the diamond with an ability to create backspin at impact. Can get pushy with the barrel at times. Projects for more power with additional strength. Posted an exit velocity of 82 mph. Good student.
