Tripp Pierce is a 2028 SS/OF with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from Portsmouth, RI who attends Bishop Feehan. Features a smaller build that has time to add strength/athleticism. Ran a 7.89 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed developing actions. Heavier/hesitant feet in his approach to the baseball with some slow down into reception. Fielded four out of his five clean catching some deep and off to the side. Has to restart momentum into throws where he sets high shoulders for uphill throws showing avg. arm strength for his level. In the INF, showed a bit more comfortability to his actions. Similar foot speed and quickness as in the OF but got set into better posture early and fielded most of his GBs out front. At times needed an extra shuffle and glove tap but others got rid of it in a hurry. Used a shorter arm action where he manipulated slot at times and made mostly accurate throws across. At the plate, he sets up with a wider lower half with loose/relaxed hands. Uses a simple trigger showing a slight sway into backside with smaller leg lift. Foot gets down with plenty of time to recognize. Taller upperhalf through the turn where the barrel works on a flatter path with average bat/hand speed for his level. Some inconsistent barrel feel/timing during his BP round but found a couple quality middle of the field LDs during his round.
