2025 PG North Indoor Showcase
Matteo Cossi is a 2028 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Deerfield, IL who attends Deerfield. A compact frame and lean build. Ran an 8.49 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher who worked with a sidestep into the leg lift at the belt, working a knee-to-waist move, with some slight coil to it. He had an exaggerated leg lift and worked from the third base side of the rubber. He had a shorter arm swing with a longer arm action, working through a medium three-quarters arm action. Compact release. He showed a fastball with some sink to it, working the 71-74 mph range. He also flashed a curveball around 60 mph with an 11-5 shape and depth to it, flashing a good bite. He also flashed a changeup on occasion. He took BP as a left-handed hitter with a spread base, high hands, and a high back elbow. He had a loose stroke with a slightly inward move, turning hard through it. He was able to drive it pull-side with some feel to impact the ball to all fields. He was rotational at times, with some good swings working pull-side. He also worked out as an outfielder, fielding it out in front with a three-quarters arm slot and some energy working to it and through it. He comes through the ball well and has a compact/whippy arm action. He showed developing arm strength with one-hop accuracy around the bag. He threw 75 mph during his round of outfield reps. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
