David Olvera is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from South Elgin, IL who attends South Elgin. Shorter lean build with the beginnings of some present strength. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash. On the mound, worked from the stretch with a belt-high leg lift and a drop-and-drive look. High 3/4 slot with a quick arm and quick release. Fastball was 77-79 mph T80 with arm-side run and life and lived in the zone with the pitch. Curveball was 69-70 mph with 11-5 shape and showed as a strikeout pitch. Primary outfielder on defense, quick feet and moves well to the ball, glove works out front with transfer continuing to get cleaner, posted 80 mph from the outfield and throws were around the tag with carry. Primary first baseman, one-hand fielding out front with momentum into throws, showed clean feeds and carry across, 78 mph arm strength. Left-handed hitter with a slightly open stance and leg lift timing, rotational move with some uphill path, showed strength and feel for the barrel with impact to the middle of the field and pull side. Excellent student.
