2025 Trosky Showcase
Brennan Augustine is a 2027 RHP/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from San Luis Obispo, CA who attends Mission College Preparatory Catholic. Features a mdium sized build with some present athleticism. On the mound, it's a quality operation showing balance and repeatability. Side steps into mid-chest knee tuck. More tall/fall type mover. Creates avg. length down the mound and lands slightly open. Uses a medium AA that hides a bit in the back and works up to a normal 3/4 slot. A bit of early torso leakage causing some pull off directionally. FB worked in the mid 70s,T77 where it showed some natural running action but also a bit of accidental cut. Mixed in upper 60s CH he kills a bunch of spin on helping create good depth to the offering. In the OF, showed quality fundamentals. Relaxed in the initial approach to the baseball but gets low to the ground. Fields it clean slightly off to the side + out front. Shows a shorter arm action that worked to an over the top release getting off uphill accurate throws with avg. strength for his level. At the plate, operated from an even base with lower set hands and used a smaller lift into launch. Stays tall through his turn as the hands work direct to the baseball. Later POCs causing some oppo flares but when on-time sent hard shots back through the middle. Avg. bat/hand speed as well as impact.
