Austin Tarpey is a 2029 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Hopewell Junction, NY who attends John Jay East Fishkill. Tall and lanky young build with lots of room and time to fill in and get stronger. 8.44 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, aggressive to the ball, extra steps throwing with developing arm strength, played with some energy. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a tight hand load, rocks back into his swing and drops his hands, long and extended swing path, bat speed will continue to grow with additional strength. Also pitched, works exclusively from the stretch with a chest high leg raise, extended 3/4's arm slot, short stride down the mound. Fastball topped out at 67 mph with some sinking life. Threw both a soft slider and curveball with gradual break, also developing a change up.
