Joseph Versace is a 2028 RHP/OF with a 5-4 120 lb. frame from Hopewell Junction, NY who attends John Jay East Fishkill. Smaller young build. 7.91 runner in the sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher, works from a full wind up from the first base side of the rubber with a coiled leg raise over the rubber. Deep arm action in to a low 3/4's arm slot; will vary his release point from pitch to pitch. Fastball had some run and sink to it, topping out at 71 mph. Showed a well-replicated changeup with short fade to it as well as an 11-5 breaking ball with a developing spin profile. Secondary outfielder, builds up and works through the baseball at a deliberate pace. Utilizes a crow-hop before separates into a deeper arm path and eventually accelerating into a 3/4 arm slot. Has some young arm speed with more to come with additional strength and improved lower-half usage. Kept his throws on-line while recording arm strength up to 75 mph. Right-handed batter, starts in a narrow stance with a tight hand set-up. Utilizes a let lift trigger for timing before working into a slightly downhill bat path. Can get mistimed on occasion. Produced softer contact to all parts of the field during batting practice. Will improve his power tool with mechanical refinement and physical maturity. Posted an exit velocity of 65 mph. Great student.
