Elijah Silvas is a 2029 RHP/IF with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Barstow, CA who attends Barstow Excelsior Charter. Features a medium build. Ran a 9.54 60-yard dash. Worked out at first base. Shows a patient approach into the catchpoint. Range profiles well for the spot. Showed intent into release while staying accurate. Reached 69 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes an even base stance with toe tap timing mechanism. Swings on a direct path through the zone. Looks to stay inside the baseball with a middle to opposite field approach. More impact to come as more strength is added. Right-handed pitcher. Throws exclusively out of the stretch. Hides the ball well with a shorter arm action into a low 3/4 slot release. Fastball worked 67-70 mph, topping out at 73 mph. Will create some cut at times.. Maintains arm speed well on changeup at 64-65 mph. Will use it often and generate whiffs. Flashed a developing, low-60’s curveball as well. Excellent student.
