Benjamin Lam is a 2028 C/RHP with a 5-10 178 lb. frame from Clifton Park, NY who attends Shenendehowa. Medium, square shouldered frame with long limbs and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 5.77 40-yard dash. Primary catcher, wide base with a higher set to start behind the plate, gains ground coming out of the crouch, quickness to arm and remains on line throughout process, has some arm strength following a clean transfer, will continue to refine repeatability of actions. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch, leg lift up to belt, lands on line coming down the mound with a short arm action working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, able to miss some bats and played well off of the curveball; consistent feel for the hook, 11-5 up to 12-6 shape and varied, landed it for strikes up to 69 mph and able to gets swings and misses. Also flashed a changeup at 71 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide and even base with weight stacked on backside, loads hands back at start. Long swing path through the zone from launch, looks to lift, occasionally gets uphill with path. Strength in hands, loudest contact to the pull side gap and able to get the barrel through the zone well. Very good student.
