Benjamin Lam is a 2028 C/RHP/1B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Clifton Park, NY who attends Shenendehowa. Medium build with good present strength. Primary catcher on defense, sets up slightly side saddle, receives the ball cleanly, gains ground into his throws, throws from a lower arm slot that creates some tail on his throws, has solid arm strength and carry. Right handed hitter, sets up in an open stance with a big and busy barrel load and a short stride into contact, lots of timing points to coordinate and can be late at times, has some strength in his swing when he can get to it, mostly middle of the field contact. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a closed front side, some crossfire action down the mound, hides the ball well from a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 82 with good running action. Slider showed some horizontal depth, also killed the spin well on his change up. Threw strikes with all three pitches and is a solid secondary arm. Excellent student.
