Brett Austin is a 2011 C with a 192 lb. frame from Matthews, NC who attends Providence HS. Solid athletic build, good present strength. Very good body life for catcher, 6.87/4.39 runner. Quick actions catcher, stays compact, nice footwork, plenty of arm strength, 1.84 best pop time. Switch-hitter, best bat speed from the right side, hits under control, balanced stance, simple line drive approach with gap power, bit longer with more extension/lift from the left side. Gets quality at bats from both sides. Good student, verbal commitment to North Carolina State.
