Ben Auer is a 2026 RHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from St Charles, IL who attends Illinois Youth Ctr - St Charles. Medium frame and build with some athleticism throughout. Projectable frame and build. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who took to the mound and worked from the wind-up with a sidestep into the delivery. He worked from the first-base side of the rubber with a leg lift at the belt and a good move down the slope overall. He had a longer and loose arm action with some whip and fluidity through release. There was arm speed that showed as well. The fastball worked 80-82 mph, and he reached back to grab one at 85 mph with some angle and life to it. He spun it up to 2,147 RPMs. The pitch had a good running life and paired well with the changeup that he showed in the mix, working the mid-70s. He also showed a curveball in the upper-60s that had spin above 2,100 RPMs and good 11-5 shape and depth to it. Auer put together a quality outing on the mound. He took BP as a right-handed hitter with an upright and open stance, with higher-set hands and a high back elbow. He had a bigger hanging leg lift trigger working into the swing. He created some separation and was able to get some jump off of the barrel, impacting it well during BP. He showed some lift and was able to drive the ball well to the middle of the field in the air & backside. Showed some juice and had some feel to be quick to launch. Produced an 81 mph exit velocity during PG DK Testing. Took a round of defensive reps in the outfield as well, throwing 83 mph. He fielded it up the middle/slightly favoring the left side. He showed a longer and loose arm stroke, keeping throws on a good flight with carry. He had good flights on throws and was able to show some athleticism to his actions moving around in the outfield. Good student. Named to 2025 Chicago Indoor Showcase TP List.
