Laken Wrubel is a 2029 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Woodridge, IL who attends Downers Grove North. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, leg lift up to belt; short and in line stride coming down the mound with some drop and drive mechanics in lower half. Compact arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release, fastball topped out at 73 mph, short running life to the arm side with ability to mix to both sides. Shape varied on the breaker, best at its 1-7 shape with vertical depth up to 62 mph. Fields the ball out front, extra step moving into release, can maintain momentum better working through the ball, similar three-quarters release, shows accuracy with develop strength and carry. Left-handed hitter, begins with an upright stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Handsy stroke with a linear path through the zone, worked to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Flashes some impact when squared, gets rotational at times in swing.
