Danny Whalen is a 2029 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Hopkinton, MA who attends Hopkinton. Medium build with some thickness and strength for his age. Works from a side step wind up with a high and compact leg raise, has a longer reach back arm action and a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the mid 60's with occasional cutting life. Low to mid-50's curveball had some gradual depth to it, also threw a split finger change up. 5.50 runner in the forty. Secondary outfielder on defense, fielded the ball cleanly, short and choppy steps to and threw the ball, made soft accurate throws with developing arm strength. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread stance with a high hand load and late inward toe tap timer, best when getting the barrel out early for pull side line drive contact.
