Jacob Kaspar is a 2029 C/RHP/UT with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Brother Rice. Medium, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.54 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, higher set behind the plate during drills, receives the ball out front, nice mid-line transfer with feel for repeating mechanics into release, present arm strength down to second base. Approaches the ball cleanly in the outfield, works into a shorter, compact arm action, quickness to hand with some carry coming out, getting on top of the ball at release with help with additional carry to intended target. Right-handed pitcher, abbreviated wind up with similar short arm action; commands it well to inner third on righties. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, mostly true in life with occasional run. Curveball showed 11-5 shape, short depth up to 62 mph, can maintain arm action through release moving forward on offering. Left-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open and upright stance with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Loose stroke and stayed on time throughout, nice job of creating extension out front and staying through the baseball. Up the middle contact with comfort turning on the ball as well; connected for a double in live action to the right center gap. Excellent student.
