2025 PG Southeast Uncommitted Prospect Showcase
Colby Kelley is a 2028 OF/RHP/1B with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Greer, SC who attends Fountain Inn. Big and tall athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. 7.21 runner in the sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher, operates from a full wind-up delivery from the far first base side of the rubber. Side-steps into a belt-high leg lift before working into a high 3/4 arm slot. Displayed drop/drive mechanics with good direction down the slope. Fastball worked both sides of the plate, peaking at 80 mph. Mixed in a slurvy breaking ball with a developing spin profile and a changeup with some fade to it. Secondary outfielder on defense, stays low as he works through the baseball and fields it properly. Works into a shorter arm path before accelerating into a low 3/4 arm slot. Showed feel for taking angles to the ball and carrying his momentum through it. Has plenty of quickness in the arm. Recorded arm strength up to 83 mph from the outfield. Right-handed batter, starts in an even stance with a high hand set-up and high back elbow. Utilizes a simple trigger for timing before working into a short and level bat path. Produced relatively hard contact up the middle and to the opposite field during batting practice. Limited separation in the stroke with some inconsistencies in the path. Projects for more power with additional strength and mechanical refinement. Posted an exit velocity of 82 mph. Excellent student.
