Caden Watts is a 2028 RHP/3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Chesapeake, VA who attends Hickory. Young athletic build with lots of growing ahead of him. Works from the stretch, solid present mechanics, uses his hips well to drive his delivery and gets nice extension out over his front side. Fastball topped out at 73 mph with some running life, threw his fastball in the zone consistently, will keep adding velocity with additional strength and physical maturity. Change up was a solid second pitch with nice sinking action, tends to cast his curveball and not get out front at release, improving this will be key to his development. 7.51 runner in the sixty. Plays third base when not on the mound, moves his feet well and is aggressive getting to the ball, plays tall and can get his glove down late at times, had some young carry on his throws and made accurate throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a bent knee stance with a tight high hand load and a toe tap trigger, tends to pull his hands through on his swing, bat speed should continue to improve as he gets stronger.
