Nico Colangelo Van Meek is a 2029 C/3B/OF with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Birmingham, MI who attends University Of Detroit Jesuit. Features a smaller lean build with room and time to add. Ran a 9.11 60-yd dash. Showed developing actions in both the INF and behind the dish. Stiffer footwork that shows intent to work through it. Fielded everything clean but showed some stab/reach to the glove actions. Extra shuffle/gather post reception. Uses a shorter arm action that got off accurate throws across with minimal strength. Behind the plate, operates from a taller set up. Compact upper chest exchange. Avg. foot quickness but gains minimal ground towards 2nd. Maintains short arm action that got off one hop accurate throws to the bag. At the plate, operates from an even base from both sides. Simple forward moves where the hands and barrel take back into a slight arm bar. Longer flatter bat paths with minimal bat/hand speed. Inconsistent barrel feel and timing. Contact to all fields with not much impact.
