Nicholas Hines is a 2027 LHP/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from La Grange, IL who attends Lyons Twp. Medium, athletic frame with room to continue adding strength. Primary left-handed pitcher, full windup operation, small side step into an above the belt leg lift, lands inline and uses the lower half well. Arms works well to a high three-quarters slot. Fastball got up to 82 mph with arm-side life (2028 RPM), turned over a changeup with tumble at 66 mph (1668 RPM) and also showed a tight slider at 74 mph (1926 RPM). Ran a 7.29 60-yard dash. Left-handed hitter, narrow and slightly open front side in the stance, inward toe tap trigger stride out into contact, flatter path with solid barrel skills. Should continue growing into additional bat speed and strength. Performed well in game action. Secondary outfielder, choppy footwork coming through the baseball, fields it with one hand off to the side and works through it well. Fluid actions and gets the ball out quick, recorded throws up to 77 mph. Excellent student.
