2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (28-29 Grads)
Riley Cook is a 2028 SS/RHP with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Glencoe, IL who attends New Trier Township. Long and lean athletic build with big physical projection remaining. Primary shortstop on defense who has two-way talent on the mound. Moves well on defense for his size, showed good raw arm strength, still working on his release and accuracy, tends to get under his throws. Right handed hitter, sets up in a slightly open stance with a low hanging leg raise timer, has a short and compact swing with some present bat speed, worked gap to gap while flashing some carry, projectable hitting tools, swung well in the games and was timed up. Works from a high leg raise delivery with some coil above the rubber, sinks into his back leg and drives down them ound well, athletic mechanics, 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the mid-80's with lots of running life, comes out of his hand easy, plenty of velocity projection. Threw a slurve type breaking ball as his secondary pitch with some spin and occasional depth. Excellent student. Named to the PG High School All-State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
