Trey Poandl is a 2030 C/OF with a 5-7 132 lb. frame from Frenchtown, NJ who attends Delaware Valley. Slender young build. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a tight hand load and an inward toe tap timer, tends to open his front side early and leave his hands behind, limited lower half use or shift, mostly middle of the field contact when he stayed on time. 4.25 runner in the thirty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up side saddle, has step by step segmented actions but repeats well, big stride into his throws, longer arm action, some developing arm strength for his age that will continue to improve. Also worked out in the outfield. Took a turn on the mound, works exclusively from the stretch with a slow paced multi-part delivery, changed to a full wind up later, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the upper 60's, change up was a solid pitch and also threw a soft curveball. Very good student.
