Raul Merin is a 2026 C/3B with a 5-8 185 lb. frame from Jurupa Valley, CA who attends Patriot. Compact medium sized build with some present strength. Right handed hitter sets up in a bent knee stance with a tight high hand load and back tap trigger, has some hand quickness to start his swing, can get long and rotational at times but has some jump off contact. 7.70 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, side saddle set up, tends to stand up to throw, receives the ball deep with a low exchange to throw, made accurate soft throws with a longer arm action. Also took a turn on the mound and filled up the zone with low 70's fastballs from a simple delivery. Excellent student.
