Dillon Maples is a 2011 RHP with a 6-3 197 lb. frame from West End, NC who attends Pinecrest HS. Slender athletic build, room for added strength. Simple turn and throw delivery, very compact arm action, hides the ball well, some drift in delivery, very fast arm. Outstanding fastball velocity, frequently 94-95 mph, occasional hard late run/sink on FB, + curveball velocity in low 80's with hard spin/sharp bite, will flash present + curveball. Has good idea how to pitch and tries to pitch to spots. Very high ceiling young prospect. Verbal commitment to North Carolina. Selected to the Aflac All-American team.
