Kyle Hyman is a slender 2005 right handed pitcher from Winter Park, FL, with very good projectability to his body. He has a loose, free arm stroke that generated a 79-81 mph fastball during his three innings of work in Fort Myers. Hyman has a tendency to carry his hands forward with him in his delivery which left him rushing and late frequently, especially with his curveball. Hyman throws a knuckle curveball at 68-70 mph that had good biting action when he had his timing down. He threw what looked to be a split finger type change up that was a little hard at 75 mph, but had some promise. Hyman struck out five hitters in his three innings and it looked like his fastball was jumping on hitters more than the radar gun was showing. Overall, he’s a young pitcher that we’d expect to see improve a lot as he gets stronger and refines himself mechanically. Kyle is an excellent student.
